
Johanna Laracuente is a fashion stylist, born and raised in Puerto Rico, with more than 10 years of experience. Her trajectory began in Miami in 1995 where she began studies in Fashion Merchandising and Visual Arts in the Miami International School of Arts and Design, formerly known as International Fine Arts College (IFAC). Here she explored her abilities as a stylist with magazines such as Ocean Drive and Fashion Spectrum as well as runway shows for Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus.
Upon acquiring her degree in 1998, she began designing window displays for renowned luxury retailer, Neiman Marcus in Bal Harbour Shops, FL, The youngest person to hold that post, Johanna was the winner of an NM best award for overall presentation at a nation wide company ceremony in 1999. As her reputation as a talented runway stylist/ producer grew, she was asked by the corporate Fashion Office Director, to style runway shows for the likes of Carolina Herrera and Badgley Mischka for store sponsored galas and charity luncheons from Palm Beach to Miami.
Her talent and strong work ethics help her become one the Head stylists for the "Fashion Week of the Americas", an event organized in Miami, to promote Hispanic designers in the US, for the next 4 years.
In 2000 she relocated to New York, where she has been working with artists like Ricky Martin, Daddy Yankee, RBD, Fall Out Boy and Gavin Degraw, She has contributed her services as stylist, consultant and market editor for magazines such as People en Espanol, Latina, Papier Doll, In Style, Mens Vogue, Blender and Stuff. In addition she has worked production during New York Fashion Week for designers like Oscar de la Renta, Carlos Campos, and Osmani Laffita with whom she traveled to Prague and the Ukraine.
A makeover specialist, the Puerto Rican artist, is a regular in People en Espanol's " El Cambio" and AOL Latino's "Ponte Coqueta", as well as TV, advising every day people how to look and feel their best. "There’s something so gratifying about seeing the face of a person after a makeover, how their self esteem goes through the roof! “, the fashionista shares. A regular in shows for Univision and Telemundo, as well as National Latin media spokesperson for Lane Bryant, the largest plus size company in the US and represents companies like TJ Maxx and Marshalls in the Hispanic Television media.
Wardrobe stylist for videos, independent films and musicals in both the Latin and International market, Miss. Laracuente has put her mark in this very competitive field, without ever forgetting her little island, which she visits often and contributes to the local industry.
